This site was created in 2005 to detail my encounters with abandoned places, particularly the former Victorian asylums that then lay derelict across much of the UK. After mothballing the site in 2009, it was redesigned in 2021, with hundreds of additional photos added to earlier accounts.

The majority of these images were taken a long time ago, and on two low-budget  cameras: a pocket Canon IXUS 330 and a Canon 300D SLR with its 18-55mm kit lens. Some of the later images were taken with the similarly unfussy Panasonic DMC-GF1 and LX100. All 35mm images were taken on a Canon AE-1, while an SX-70, 600, Image and Land Camera were used for all Polaroids. Super 8mm footage was filmed on a Canon Auto Zoom 518. I still use a cheap camera.
