![]() ................... After learning of yet another arson attack, I decided to return to Severalls. Reports of the blaze were oblique, referring only to the building's rough dimensions - a range of possible locations instantly springing to mind. ................... ![]() ................... I decided first to explore the main building. (It had been several months since my last visit, and I was just as keen to assess the interiors as to identify the fire's location). ................... ![]() ................... ................... ![]() ................... ................... ![]() ................... After drifting along the major corridors, I decided an aerial view would save time – but a quick ascent of the water tower (with a chastening glimpse of some loose asbestos beneath) yielded nothing– everything appearing much the same as in June. ![]() ................... ................... ![]() ................... ................... ![]() ................... ................... ![]() ................... A quick vault of the fence and I made my way to the chapel and some of the outlying villas. It was then that I discovered the scene of the blaze - a small cottage on Severalls Lane. In an extreme state of dilapidation for several years, had it not been for the cordon, I doubt I would have noticed any damage. ![]() ................... ................... ![]() ................... ................... ................... |
